I know it's been a long time since my last post. "Time marches on" they say and they're right. I can't believe it' s almost March.

Since my divorce, I have lived on my own and was getting pretty used to it after 5 years. A couple weeks ago, my landlord told me they are going to put my house on the market to sell in June and wanted to give me plenty of notice and first shot at buying it. I was in shock. I knew they were going to raise my rent but did not think they would sell. The housing in our area has gone sky high and out of my price range. Since I'm a retired "stay at home mom", the pension isn't that great.
Most of you know that I am close to my kids, especially my daughters. They both offered for me to come live with them. They are so sweet but this wasn't my first choice. I don't want to intrude on their lives and I like having my own space too.
Kathy and Kevin have offered to build on to their home so that I can have a big enough place for me and Sophie. We practically live together already with me being 3 doors down but it is not the same as being in the same house. But this is what we have all decided on that would be best for all of us.
We've been talking to the contractor to come up with a floor plan. He will measure and do some drawing when the rain stops. I am actually getting a little excited about it even tho I am sad at the same time. Giving up my place here is going to be hard. It's been my sanctuary and haven since the divorce, my place of healing and independence. I feel blessed to have kids that care so much about me and are willing to let me and my big dog come live with them. I love them dearly and don't know what I would do without them, they know this because I say it all the time.
So onto another season and passage of my life. It will be an adjustment but I've got some time to pack and get used to the idea. I didn't think that I would live in this home forever but I didn't think I would be moving out so soon either.
I will try to update more but no promises.

Happy New Years' everybody!

I don't know what you're gonna do tomorrow night, but I'm gonna stay home and be safe. I've had my share of New years' eve parties to remember, one I'll never forget but that's a story for another day, maybe.
It's been over 20 years since I've drank and I don't miss it a bit. Now I can remember them only a little better since the memory is fading from getting old but at least I don't get the hangover.
Our tradition for the past few years is to have a crab feast, watch the ball drop and go to bed wishing I hadn't ate so much crab and butter, listening to my arteries hardening with gunshots and fireworks in the distance..... somebody always has to shoot off a gun. We used to do that when we lived in the mountains but not here in the neighborhood. That would just be tacky. Besides that they'd probably catch me, handcuff me and throw me in the pokey.
Bein' the Fonz I have to be cool. Heyyyyyy.

I couldn't believe the size of the snow flakes, It was really awesome, it isn't as bad as it was when I useta live up dare in the mountains where I got up to 3 to 5 feet of snow, I like this snow so much better it just dusted the ground and it melted pretty quick... Nutten like having a nice warm fire and watching it snow...

Here is the table set for 10. It was spent with family and friends in this beautiful home. It was nice to not have to cook for a change.
The house is so big I got lost going to bathroom and then I couldn't figure out how to flush there new-fangled toilet. The home was just built and they have all the new modern type fixtures. There is a courtyard with a balcony. It has a castle theme to it, so it was fun to visit there.
Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving. Thank you to all the nice people that visit my little ol' blog and are nice enough to leave me comments, you know who you are. You are all so funny and I do enjoy reading your comments even tho I don't leave comments on a regular basis on yours. I will try harder but don't make fun of my spellin'.

Finally got the "Exploder" fixed. It had been dead in the driveway for about 2 weeks. Started out by not starting one morning after it had started ok a couple times. I had to go back home for something and then when I went to go back out, it wouldn't start. My daughter-in-law decided it must be the battery and cables since they both looked really corroded. My son came over to help Kevin with putting in the new battery, he also brought his 2 best buddies, Mike and Jeff. It was pretty comical to watch all 4 of them trying to work on my vehicle. There were a few beers consumed by these "mechanics" so they had to call it quits when it started to get dark and cold.

It was the starter that was the problem to begin with but I needed a new battery anyway since the other was 5 years old.

The expense was not too bad considering all the professional help that I got.
I had a Ortho-tech, logger, Beeman and a construction worker giving it all they had to get me back on the road again. Now I just gotta figure out where I want to go.

My birthday was combined with a family reunion and 3 other birthdays. About 70 people showed up to the park where it was held. I saw people I hadn't seen in years. Even people I went to high school with. It was really alot of fun and brought back alot of good memories. So many smiling faces. It truly is a nice family to be a part of.
We even had a band. My ex-sister in law sang even tho she is in a wheelchair, she made me dance with her to "Kansas City". The Fonz had to whipout the bop and show my stuff. Then Kara and Tyler got out there and had to try to show me up. It was the cutest thing, all the old folks just melted and applauded them when the song was over. I could go on and on about what a good time I had but you can check out the pics on flickr and see for yourself. As you have already seen some of my "lovely" shots that Kristine put on her blog. Now its my turn.
Kathy and I were looking at them tonight and I'm so glad we took so many pictures.

Hello everybody! I guess I haven't really felt up to blogging lately. A lot of stuff goin on around here. We went to this lake to scatter my mom-in-laws ashes about a week ago. Got home in time to see the Raiders win, finally.

After I came home from the casino Saturday and making my donation of 80 bucks, I get a call from Kristine saying that Shaun wants to talk to me.
He said to me,"I asked Kristine, "What would your mom say if I asked her if she wanted me to be her son-in-law?" and I said, "Yes, yes, yes!!" I couldn't be any happier to have him as my son-in-law.

The waiting was long and stressful but being together somehow made it not so bad, I think. We laughed alot as Barry told us his stories working for Safeway.
He loved to catch shoplifters. He told stories that we had heard before, still funny too, some we hadnt heard before. Oh well guess ya to be there.
But being there to try to comfort them was comforting to me too. It was scary and now its over. Thank you God.

What was I thinking when I picked up Kathys' glasses? I cant see a damn thing outta them. And what was I thinking when I let her take this picture. She had Cammy on stealth mode, for museums shots and she dont even make a sound as she clicks away. After she showed me this pic I laughed til I cried and thats how she got all those other dandy shots of me. I didnt even know she was photographing me. Kathy and I played photographers and enjoyed the scenery. Took a little hike up a trail. I said UP and I can feel it today but Im not gonna let a few sore muscles keep me home.

We had so much fun with our new toofies I would drive the the street with my girls and we come up on some Hottie in a car, they look over and flash that purty smile of there's and what was so funny that most of the guys that they smiled at would look ONCE and NOT again i know what he must of been thinking? Poor girls they wouldn't look so bad if they would of gotten there teeth fixed... Oh what a good laugh we had, until tears rolled down our faces and kathy peeing her pants....

This is Kristine in her first wedding in 1977. This was her natural color back then. After Kathy gave her the short bob, it cut off alot of the blonde but as you can see all the blonde has grown back.

This photo was taken a few days before Karas birthday. We thought it would be fun to take her out to Mexican dinner. It was alot of fun as usual. They sang and served her flan. She knew right away after the first bite, that she was not going to be a fan of this dessert
Kara went to Disneyland on her 12th birthday so I got to take care of her beloved Mooshu. Sposta only be for a week but I got blessed with 2. Just long enough for Sophie and me to get used to having her around and now Sophie is so bummed out, its pathetic.

Im still trying to get the hang of this blogging thing. Kathy came over and showed me how to upload photos to flickr. I think her and Kris are starting to rethink this. I have some dandies of them that could get me put in the home and you know what home I mean.
Hopefully, I will remember how to do it after she goes home.

I call my two daughters my bookends. Kathy was my first and then I had my three boys then came Kristine.
I could call them the "Fonz Sandwich", but bookends sound so much better.

I took Shea Victoria Secret while the others went to the other stores. Shea was walking around with her hand over her eyes. She said "Grandma why did you take me in this store?"

I told her that some day she would wear a bra too.

She looked at me with this look on her face and she said, "No I won't. I will take it off!"

My grandbabies are the most well behaved children. They didn't ask for much. I don't have any quarters left, but I didn't have to buy them each a car.

Their Paw-paw, my ex-husband, came by today. That was interesting. We got along okay. I only had to put him in a headlock a couple of times so it was a good visit. I had to bite my tongue a few times, but I behaved. The gun stayed under my pillow the whole time.

We are having fun. I convinced Kristine to stay another night (sorry Shaun, you can't have her back so soon) We are waiting for Kathy to come over so we can laugh for a couple of hours. I would turn on the web cam so you all could join in on the fun, but our hair is up in pony tails and we are wearing our sweats.

Not always a country girl....

So sorry I haven't blogged for awhile, but here it goes...

I wasn't always a country girl I was born and raised in Oakland,Ca. I Moved to the mountains when I was around 25 and not much to do there except go hunting and fishing.

Me and my 357 had a lot of fun out in dem dare woods I could hit a flea off a rats ass with that baby...I didn't always bring her with me I would get my 22 rifle and go out squirrel hunting and get my limit most of the time, only 2 squirrels were the limits then. I didn't like using a shotgun it tore em up to bad. I would skin 'em, gut 'em,bring 'em home and fry 'em for dinner.

Inever did tell kris what they were. I just told her that they were chicken. That worked for awhile, but one day she said, "mom how come the chicken has 4 legs?"
I just smiled and would say "that one is special just for you."

That's it for now my brain is fading.

I want to thank all of you for your support. Don't give up on me yet. I know I can come up with better stories for you... I'm new at this and really do love reading all of your blogs...
